“Jinnah Medical Complex aims to be a centre of excellence” says Dr. Saeed Akhter, Chairman, Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Centre (JMC&RC)
Jeddah: September 7, 2025 – The Consulate General of Pakistan, Jeddah hosted an interactive session with Professor Saeed Akhter attended by medical professionals from multiple faculties and hospital executives.
Dr. Saeed Akhter, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Centre (JMC&RC) briefed the audience about the government plans to establish (JMC&RC) in Islamabad as a national hub for advanced healthcare, research and medical education.
While sharing details of the project, he emphasized the need for a modern tertiary care facility in the capital, Islamabad, noting that Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Centre is financed by the Federal Government and granted full operational autonomy. He said that the JMC&RC aims to deliver specialized healthcare, cutting-edge research and medical training, making it a regional center of excellence in the region.
Dr. Saeed, a famed Urologist and transplant surgeon, is known for his humanitarian services and served as the founder CEO of the Pakistan Kidney Institute (PKI) and the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI). He holds a Master of Public Heath from Yale University, and held academic positions in a number of world universities.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Consul General of Pakistan, Jeddah, Mr. Khalid Majid underlined the importance of health awareness and shed light on the pioneering works and achievements of Dr. Saeed with the establishment of PKI and PKLI in Pakistan.
