The Ambassador conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the leadership, Government and people of Pakistan to the Governor. He appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom to arrange Hajj 1442 in a safe and secure environment. The Ambassador also underlined Pakistan’s successful efforts in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic and hoped that the flights from Pakistan to the Kingdom will be resumed soon. The Governor welcomed the Ambassador and while highlighting the warmth of relations between the two brotherly countries, wished further strengthening of these ties in the coming days.
In the afternoon, the Ambassador had a courtesy call on Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah in his office at Makkah Al-Makarramah. He supported the Kingdom’s decision on the Hajj this year and hoped for resumption of Umrah after the Hajj as well as resumption of flights from Pakistan to the Kingdom in the near future. The Ambassador expressed gratitude on the inclusion of Pakistan (Islamabad) in “the Road to Makkah” initiative and requested for extending this initiative to other big cities of Pakistan as well. The Deputy Minister, while welcoming the Ambassador, thanked the Government of Pakistan for its understanding on the arrangements of Hajj this year and excellent ongoing bilateral cooperation on Hajj & Umrah affairs. He also assured of full support and cooperation on all matters that came under discussion during the meeting.
