Jeddah, September 23-2022. The Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Mr. Khalid Majid, hosted a reception to celebrate the 92nd National Day of Saudi Arabia. High-profile diplomats, leading Pakistani and Saudi entrepreneurs, a cross-section of Pakistani and Saudi community members, and representatives from Saudi and ethnic media were present at the event.

Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Branch in Makkah-Al-Mukarramah Region, Farid-Al-Hazmi, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Other prominent guests included  Princess Johra, Director General Ministry of Media Abdul Khaliq Zhrani,    and senior management of Jeddah chamber of commerce.

In his remarks, the Consul General congratulated the Government and people of Saudi Arabia on this occasion and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to its close and brotherly ties with Saudi Arabia. He praised the momentous role of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, in promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond, and highly praised their efforts to achieve economic development and progress. He further said that this year marks seventy-five years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and we share mutual goals and vision and look forward to continuing to foster a strong partnership in the coming years.

Commending the government of Saudi Arabia for its immense help and support to Pakistani flood victims, the Consul General said that the people and government of Saudi Arabia have always been supportive of Pakistan in its time of need, and this gesture is yet another example of that. He urged the participants to contribute generously to the KSA relief fund, which will go a long way in helping the affected people rebuild their lives. The Consul General also highlighted the contribution of Pakistanis to Saudi Arabia’s development over the past many decades. The event concluded with a collective prayer for the flood victims of Pakistan, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.
