The Consulate General of Pakistan and the Pakistani community join hands to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day in Jeddah
Jeddah, August 13, 2024 -The Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah, in collaboration with a lead community organization, Pakistan National Solidarity Forum (PNSF) hosted a colorful community event to celebrate 77th anniversary of nation’s independence. The event was held at the prestigious school’s auditorium of Pakistan International School and was graced by the presence of diverse spectrum of the Pakistani community alongside the presence of local ethnic media representatives, highlighting their deep-rooted unity and fondness for their homeland.
The event commenced with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the national anthem of Pakistan, stirring a strong sense of patriotism and respect among all attendees. A special highlight of the event was the screening of a video showcasing the achievements of Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s celebrated athlete, who made history by winning the gold medal in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics Games. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the enthusiastic performances of national songs by the famous Pakistani community singers. Children from Pakistan International Schools delivered compelling speeches and captivating tableaus.
Consul General Khalid Majid, in his address, emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s Independence Day and conveyed sincere appreciation to the Saudi leadership for their steadfast support. He praised the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Jeddah to the country’s development and also commended Arshad Nadeem’s outstanding achievement, saying “His success is a testament to the talent and potential of Pakistani youth, and we are proud to recognize his accomplishments on this special day.” He commended the invaluable contributions made by the Pakistani community in strengthening the Saudi-Pak relations.
Among the distinguished guest speakers were Syed Riaz Hussain Bukhari, Convener PNSF, Ch. Shafqat, Chairman Pakistan Investors Forum and Ch. Zaheer, Secretary General, PNSF. Speakers emphasized the importance of independence and harmony in their addresses, highlighting the significance of Pakistan’s Independence Day and the need for unity and cooperation among community members.
The event holds great importance, as it formed an essential part of the Pakistan Independence Day-14th August celebrations. The event provided a platform for community members to come together to celebrate their shared heritage, values and reaffirm their commitment to the values of freedom, justice, and equality that Pakistan’s independence represents.
